This page will show you how to make a free free free website with a free free free add to cart feature.NOT A TRIAL JUST FREE, PLAIN AND SIMPLE. Scroll to the bottom of the page to see some sample items. Who am i?

Notice the shopping cart in the top right corner! You are 3 clicks away from a purchase...not bad when you realize your website will have the same "3 clicks away" shopping cart...

You may want to make an email account, just to run separate from your personal email...this is optional.

Step one:

register a google checkout account, and get verified. This takes a few days and requires a bank account.

Step two

Register and account with photobucket

Step three

Register and account with synthasite. now called yola, thankfully.

Step four

Get your pictures onto photobucket, turn them into html

step 4a

suggestion, name your photos, and use your own item numbers and price in the name. for example: "000123-14.99" ---this is item number 000123 and i want $14.99, this will show up in the code. helpful.

To get your picture into html, do this:

Make an album, on the left, type a name and save, then move all the picture you wish to work with into this album.

---If you have your settings set at 10 pics per page, and you have 11 or more pics it will show a page number at the bottom. It will also have a "view all" option. Click view all(only if you have more than one page of pics).

At the bottom of this page you will also find a "select all" box. Check select all at the bottom of page.

Next click on generate html....Copy and paste into a notepad, I used the "html thumb" code

Watch a video here 7 minutes worth of how to turn pictures into html.

Step 5

Get your add to cart code from google checkout.

From your google checkout account, click on the "tools" tab, then "checkout cart" in the left text link menu.

Important! this page will have a form you fill out.The next page will have 2 sets of html. The second set of html tells the buttons who to pay. You must put the second set of code on each page, just once per page. The first set is your button code. Your button will NOT show up, if you do not have the second set on the page.

To put it simply, Everytime you place a button on any page for the first time, copy BOTH CODES to the webpage...every other time you put a button on that page you only need the first code.

My next time saver suggestion?

Copy your second code to a notepad and save it. It has your merchant id in it. This way you don't need to login to google to make a new page. Likewise you can also make a generic cart button and save this code as well. Try typing something in the form that is unique and will stand out. A string of letters or numbers works well. Or you may simply type "descriptiongoeshere" and "imageurlgoeshere" into the boxes, type "1111.11" into the price box. then click generate code. You will see the code has the values you entered. Save this code and when you want to make a new button, just replace those values with your real title and price values. Then paste the code to your webpage.

Step 6

Take your code from both sites (photobucket and google checkout) and paste it into your website.

I used a two column layout. On the right side I put my checkout button and my html thumb code. This is the result.

The picture is html thumb code, which when clicked will take your customer to your photobucket page to see an enlarged picture.

The cart button will add the itme to a cart module that floats on the screen. when finished they may make a purchase.

The left side of the two cloumn layout, is where I type the price, since the cart code doesn't show it on the page. You will need to tell your info next to the picture thumb.

After I made 2, (count 'em one, two) thats 2-- two column layouts I dragged an empty two column layout into the wondow and dragged one completed listing (two column layout box) into the empty two column layout.

while making this page I made an example and took a screen shot then I just left the example below.

I used the following:

  • google checkout
  • synthasite
  • photobucket
The reasons for using these are as follows.

  1. Paypal lies, and I don't like them. And google exists.
  2. Synthasite is free, and has yet to cause me any problems frequently experienced with other free website hosts. i.e. downtime, forced ads, trial periods, crappy interface, hard to use, looks horrible...etc
  3. photobucket...i don't remember, but i just used them, and it works, so i kept on using it.
photobucket has a free account with forced ads, but if you want you can pay $3 and get a pretty decent hosting deal. I still use the free one.

These ads are mine. I put them here, because I want them here. I really like these companies and believe they provide real solutions to small stores and individuals looking for stock to place in a store. If you need some stock, click on the banner and check it out.

That's about it. If you follow the steps you will wind up with a store like this.

Below is a video, it's a wee bit on the long side...but I used screen shots and did a walk through.
Watch it first, then ask questions after.
Don't feel foolish or goofy, asking questions. This isn't like an apple orchard, or a cow pasture, or a city block. Find yourself a place to sit and just watch what happens for a length of time, and you will learn. Apple trees, cows or skyscrapers, they all do their thing, year after year, they are what they are. Computers are stupid! They DO NOT, do the same thing year after year. Every 3 months the next "billionaire whipper snapper" comes along and changes everything. If You had an apple orchard on your desk and used it everyday and still had questions about how it functions, then one might wonder whether or not you had been paying attention. You do not have an apple orchard, (I say this with a fair amount of certainty), on your desktop, you have a computer. If ever it could be said, there are no stupid questions, that time is now! I can almost guarantee this information will be obsolete in 2019, just ten years from now. Anyways, the whole point of this giant paragraph is to emphasize one point...No stupid questions. Please feel free to ask here.

So I know what your thinking, What happens when I get huge? What will I do when I make it big? First off, let's realize one thing, this is a good problem. But assuming you do get big and wish to buy a webstore that costs money...I have a couple suggestions.

suggestion one watch this video before you spend any money.

If and when you decide on a paid host, and you are making millions and you need to reroute your traffic...paste this simple code into your website. it will redirect to the website you specify.

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=http://yoursitehere.com">

be sure to replace the http://yoursitehere.com part with your new website.
also make a message telling people the page has moved and they are being redirect.
If you wish to modify this code after you place it you have to be quick, open your page and then click the edit button right away. It want to redirect you even in the page editor. so after you place it and try to go to the editor, it will redirect even in the editor
make a test page you don't mind deleting and try this code on it first...

YOU MAY ADD TO CART  and even go to google checkout just to see how it looks, but DO NOT CLICK PURCHASE, UNLESS YOU INTEND TO GIVE ME $1.23 FOR  a file i made in about 30 seconds. p.s. it really is funny, but if you link around my site, you can find it for free. Do not buy this. just look at it too see if you like it enough to have one on your free site...
